The doves and mockingbirds knit the fog
into socks and coats for those who walk the bridge
over the ocean the land remembers
glittering in rainbows, refractions;
light bends infinity into all her bridges
under which we pass.
Welcome to second (third?) summer, much like the multiple meals of a wealthy hobbit, in which we have exceeded the pleasant sufficiency of warm weather and are filling in all the chilly corners. Is it time to convert all Christmas decorations to holiday at the beach? Sandmen and pelicans? Did I pick the wrong picture for this week's Muse? :) Hoping you're having a good week!

I LOVE the doves and mockingbirds knitting the fog into socks and coats! So endearing!
ReplyDeleteLove your vision here Chrissa — “the land remembers glittering in rainbows, refractions” this line caught me especially, very nice! 🙂✌🏼🕊❤️
ReplyDeleteDefinitely chose the right image! For me it reads like a lovely stream of consciousness.
ReplyDeleteEvery line is a jewel in this gorgeous poem Chrissa! Magical and lovely and your image choice was perfection! I think today it will get cold again for us in our neck of the woods. 😊
ReplyDelete"doves and mockingbirds knit the fog"
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Poetry at its best.
Happy Sunday Chrissa. Thanks for dropping by my blog.
Much💌love
Just magical <3
ReplyDeleteNice thoughts penned. I like the reflections best although they are muffled by the fog. We have a lot of fog here along the Gulf Coast of Texas. So many that Princess Cruise Line pulled out of Houston and moved down to Galveston, also on the Gulf Coast but closer to the open sea.
ReplyDelete..
The idea of the birds knitting...this is gorgeous and magical!
ReplyDeleteOh, those "doves and mockingbirds knitting the fog into socks"
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous image I got from that, Chrissa!
